The award for the most improved player in all age groups of the Burnley and District teams was presented to 12-year old Qasim Shah at Burnley Cricket Clubs presentation evening.

The presentation of the Craig Heaton Trophy was a culmination of a season where Qasim, who is in his first year at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, has represented Burnley and District Under 13s, Burnley Cricket Club 2nd and 3rd XIs and Lancashire Under 13s.

Qasim is the 23rd recipient of the trophy and joins a long list of young cricketers, the majority of which have progressed to senior cricket with a number having attained county standard.

Mr Heaton who presented the trophy, thanked Burnley Cricket Club for allowing the trophy to be presented at their awards night.
