THREE-time world champion gymnast Beth Tweddle will be in town next weekend to open a brand new sporting facility.
The London 2012 medal hopeful will be on hand to cut the ribbon to the new social enterprise based on Network 65 Business Park on Sunday, February 19th.
Burnley Enterprise of Sport and Training will host an opening ceremony that will hope to inspire local people to increase participation in a range of sports that will be on offer.
Burnley Gymnastics Club have relocated to the facility to enable them to offer more sessions and longer training hours to a range of club level gymnasts. Also at the centre will be the provision of indoor bowls to encourage the sport to become a year-round participation programme.
The Olympian will be on hand to sign autographs and talk on how the Olympics can inspire future generations to take part in sport.
Beth will then perform a coaching master class to the club’s gymnasts, while being shadowed by club coaches.
Director of BEST Andrew Smith said: “We are delighted to be able to welcome such an inspirational athlete like Beth Tweddle to open this community facility. It has been hard work on a long road to get things open and this is the icing on the cake. We have had lots of help along the way from too many people to mention but special thanks must go to LED Electrical who have kindly sponsored the grand opening and getting Beth to open the facility”.
Bookings are now being taken for various sports programmes at the centre. If you would like further information, visit www.thebestcentre.com or follow on facebook or twitter. Alternatively, feel free to call in or call 455068.
