Simon Waterworth is the Scratch Matchplay champion at Towneley Golf Club.

The in-form youngster beat Garry Turner in an entertaining final.

Dean Pickard won the Club Championship with two rounds of 71, ahead of Turner (76-72) and Waterworth (73-74).

Mick Hargreaves won the Saturday Stableford with 42 points on the card from Scott Weldon, and James Carling won the Tuesday event with 40 points with Rob Wilson a point adrift.

Daniel Haslam was nearest the pin at the 6th and 17th holes.

Towneley went up to Glen View to face Burnley in the annual Levens Cup match, with honours ending even, meaning holders Towneley retain the trophy.

On Sunday, and open four-man team event took place, with Andrew Miller’s team taking the plaudits with 101 points.

At Burnley, the ladies’ Centenary Trophy was won by Jean Scaife (82-10-72) from Lisa Wilson (85-12-73) and Susan Kelly (110-35-75).
