Jimmy Waddington of Lamb Club beat Worsthorne’s Tony Greenwood 4-1 to win the small table final of the 2015 Fosters Golden Cue competition.

Greenwood took the first frame with an impressive show of potting, but Waddington fired into action after that, taking four frames on the trot with breaks of 37, 64, 57.

The third frame before the break was pivotal, as Waddington stormed into a lead, and Greenwood needed four snookers with the colours on.

He got them, and took the colours, but missed the black.

Both players then had safety shots on the black for five minutes before Waddington chipped it into the corner, narrowly missing going in off .

He never looked back after that and cleared the table in frame five with 57 to take the small table title.

The large table final is on Sunday at 1 p.m. between Russell Large of Poplar and Simon Blackwell of British Rail.

The Grand Final will be played on alternate tables at Ighten Leigh on Monday.
