One of Sandygate Amateur Boxing Club youngsters saw action again over the weekend.

Brunshaw’s Jaden “JDogg” Howarth-Franklin (12) boxed C. Winstanley (Leigh ABC) at the North West Region’s new championship venue The Lighthouse, Salford, Manchester.

Straight from the opening bell the Burnley boxer took control of proceedings, making great use of his long lead hand, which seem to penetrate the defences of the lad from Leigh.

The second round saw Winstanley come forward trying to pressure Jaden, who covered and countered well, reaffirming his dominance.

The Year 7 Unity College pupil took control of the round once more, and the third and final round proved to be the Sandygate starlet’s finest, moving around the ring with confidence catching Winstanley with precision and power with his rigid lead rear hand and slight reach advantage paying off.

The Hargreaves Street boxer’s hand was raised the victor with a unanimous verdict by all three judges ringside.
