If you want to test yourself or a team to the limit, the inaugural Ellis Brigham Trailblaster 12 is for you.

This is a 12-hour off-road relay race or Ultra marathon challenge against the clock at Towneley Park, with a portion of the proceeds going to Pendleside Hospice.

The event, organised by CanonballEvents based in Todmorden, is set for June 21st, 2015.

People can run on their own, as a pair or in teams of four or five, and it’s a case of chalking up the laps, which are 5km each, over 12 hours. The race starts at 8 a.m. and finishes at 8 p.m.

The team/person with the most laps completed when the clock stops will win - but it’s more about testing your own endurance and stamina, although there are plenty of prizes on offer.

Entry for one person is £50, for two people it’s £80, and £185 for team entries of four or five members.
