Two-point win for trio at Burnley Golf Club

Burnley Golf Club hosted a Three-Man Team competition on Sunday.

Playing betterball stableford, with two scores to count, the winners were former Lowerhouse and Burnley cricketer Vishal Tripathi, former Glen View captain Kim Stevens and Andrew Wilson with 78 points.

Runners-up were David Holden, Phil Sutcliffe and Ray Scaife with 76 points, following a card play-off with Terry Yardley, Duncan Mudie and Terry Riley, also with 76 points.

Meanwhile, the winners of the latest round of winter league matches - played in betterball matchplay format - were Lee Corns and Mark Atwell, Mark Corns and Nick Macadam, Ben Pate and Rob Skeath, Alun Jones and Steve Pickup, Alan Rigby Lovat and Phil Handley, Darren Jennings and Martin Leach, and Steve Butschok and Neil Field.

The winner of the nearest the pin competition, at 15ft 2ins, was William Holmes.
