Swimmers from Blessed Trinity made a splash as they represented Burnley in the Lancashire Youth Games.

The event, which was held at Palatine Pool, Blackpool, was hotly-contested, with boroughs represented from all over Lancashire.

Each Year 7 and 8 pupil had to compete in a 25m individual race and then in the freestyle and IM relays.

Meanwhile, Trinity’s Emma Fothergill has been selected to swim backstroke at Catholic School Games in Kecskemet, Hungary between July 5-11th, where she will be competing against schools from across Europe.

Emma has been watched in competitions and her times recorded, and she has earned selection from top coaches in Britain.

Emma, who is thrilled to have been named in the squad, has been helped by Blessed Trinity’s thriving PTFA with funding.

The school’s netballers are also on a high after scooping three titles this year.

The girls fromYears 8, 9 and 10 were victorious in all their league fixtures against the other schools in Burnley.

Throughout the year the pupils have trained regularly and are hoping to continue with their winning streak next year.
