Tornados prepare for the new season

WITH New York Giants’ Superbowl triumph fresh in the memory, Burnley Tornados’ own American Football season will start shortly.

Big changes are underway due to many of last season’s players advancing onto the next level at Lancashire Wolverine Colts.

New players are required to add to an experienced squad that last season finished ninth nationally and missed out on the play-off finals at Crystal Palace by a point.

The new home of the Tornados is the Prairie playing fields, and training is every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12-30 p.m. All kit is provided, and there is a small subscription service.

Newcomers are always welcome (aged 13-16), both boys and girls, to try out.

The schedule so far has already included a joint training session with Standish Raiders and Preston Panthers and plans are in place for a warm up game against the Panthers in mid-March.

There is an open day tomorrow at the Prairie and all are welcome.

The club boast fully-qualified and CRB-checked coaches, and is club mark accredited.
