Burnley Golf Club held an Odds and Evens competition at the weekend, playing better ball stableford.

Both players scored on the odd numbered holes with one player to score on the even numbered holes.

Colin Weston and Mark Corns won with 51 points, from Graeme Evans and Tom Henderson with 48, with Shamus Alexander and Nick Macadam third with 47.

Winners of the winter league matches were: David Owen and Colin Weston, Lee Corns and Mark Atwell, Margaret Pendlebury and Terry Walne, Shane Waite and William Holmes, and Terry Clarke and Tim Cormack.

Dave Gray and David Robinson halved their match against Alan Rigby Lovat and Phil Handley, as did Jerry and Shaun Starr against reigning champions Darren Jennings and Martin Leach - who was nearest the pin at 4 ft 2”.

At Towneley Golf Club, the latest round of the Winter League was won by Christopher Sedgwick with 44 points, ahead of Peter Hargreaves (43) and Roy Catlow (41).
