Bobcats swim squad are being supported this year by The Society of St George, Burnley.
In addition to fundraising, The Society has provided Bobcats with a trophy - The Robert Monk Memorial Cup.
The coaches have agreed with The Society of St George, Burnley that this year’s recipient is Thomas Mackay.
The Trophy was presented to Tom after a Bobcats training session by head coach Michael Robinson and Jermain Cheetham, President of The Society of St George, Burnley. Also in attendance were Denis Norton, assistant president, and Victor Jull, past president.
Tom, age 13, has trained with determination and enthusiasm throughout the year and as a result his personal bests are improving.
In June Tom swam at the North West Regional Championships, competing in the 400m freestyle and he also took part in the North West Region Open Water Championships, where he won a silver medal in the 1500m event.
Coach Robinson said at the presentation: “Tom puts full effort into his training and does exactly as he is asked, which is why we want to recognise him. “
