Taggart helps St Peter’s to worthy win

It was close fought affair in the North West Counties Squash League as Burnley secured a 3-2 victory over second placed Haslingden.

Things started badly for Burnley when Ron Darlington succumbed to a 3-2 defeat in the opener.

This was followed by a magnificent display from Daniel Whittaker, saving five match point before winning 3-2.

Next on court was Nik Czernianin who dominated his match to win 3-1.

Scott Wise soon found himself 2-0 down and sespite a minor rally went down 3-1.

It was left to the undefeated Rod Taggart to confirm victory proving to be too strong and powerful with a convincing 9-0, 9-0,9-1 win.

Next week St Peter’s are away to the undefeated leaders of the league, David Lloyd, Chorley.
