Burnley Boys’ and Girls’ Club, having become the first team from Burnley to win the East Lancashire Table Tennis Premier League title, are on track to retain their title.

The team - Martin Wyatt, David Kay, captain Matthew Harrison, Andrea Harrison and Keith Lee - are unbeaten, and though currently second, they are only three points adrift with a game in hand.

Harrison and Kay both feature in the top five merits.

In the First Division, Brierfield, though fourth, allowing for games in hand are going to be in the title race, led by the leading players in the division - Jack Keogh and David Eastwood.

However, Brierfield B are at the foot of the First Division and in the relegation zone.

League virgins this season, BEST Centre, in the Third Division, have five wins out of seven, and are third, led by Jordan Moore, seventh in the merit table.

The centre’s Young Guns are also competing well, though will hope to add to their solitary win soon.

The BEST Centre is open to new players and beginners on a Monday night, contact Darren Wright (07736473609).
