Simon Blackwell won the Fosters Golden Cue title after a 4-2 win against Jimmy Waddington on Monday night at Ighten Leigh.
In a terrific match full of big breaks and breathtaking potting, it was nip and tuck until frame five when Blackwell took control, pinching a frame on the small table to take a 3-2 lead.
He was pretty much unplayable on the big table all night, and ran out in the next with another 50-plus break to take frame, match and title.
Jimmy was in great form as well despite losing, as he rattled in a 78 break to take the high break prize on the night.
Graham Jones of Heineken UK was on hand to present all the prizes, and the organisers thank Andy Dibb, Kev Catlow, Josh Stevenson and all staff at Ighten Leigh as well as referee John Timperley, ever-present at the finals.
