The 27-year-old's contest against the Penge pugilist will now be the warm up act for Gervonta Davis's IBF World super featherweight title defence against Liam Walsh at the Copper Box Arena on May 20th.

The Baltimore southpaw, the youngest world champion at 22, is represented by five-division world supremo Floyd Mayweather who signed off 18 months ago, 49 fights unbeaten, with the WBC World and WBA (Super) World straps in tow having seen off interim champion Andre Berto at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Mayweather Jr, rated as the best pound-for-pound fighter on the planet, founded his own promotional company after defecting from Bob Arum's Top Rank and is expected to be ringside in the country's capital after tipping his protege to follow his meteoric rise in the sport.

"It's great for the show," said Singleton. "It's a very good move. I was headlining the bill for the other one which was a bonus but now we've got Floyd Mayweather's main man. It's great to be on his bill as chief support.

"It's going to be aired live on BT Sport so people all around the world will be watching it due to Gervonta Davis being added.

"He's going to be an elite fighter and those tuning in to see him will be watching me as well which is great.

"I'm more than happy being chief support to him. Having a fighter like him topping the bill is something else. It's brilliant news.

"I saw his last fight. He was on the same bill as James DeGale. He's like an aggressive version of Mayweather.

"That's his style, he has the same traits and he's very powerful so it will be interesting. His record is ridiculous."

That CV reads 19 professional triumphs with 18 of those coming inside the distance. Davis, coached by Calvin Ford, is the jewel in the crown of Mayweather's 'Money Team' with his mentor describing him as a 'superstar' and 'one of the most exciting fighters in boxing'.

Mayweather, who is currently in negotiations with Conor McGregor's representatives to pen a lucrative 'super fight', is expected to be ringside at the Olympic venue.

"It spurs me on even more with him being there," Singleton went on. "He's the best that there has ever been and he's fought at welterweight.

"I'm sure he'll take an interest in our fight because there has already been talk of world titles for Skeete. I'm sure he'll have one eye on it.

"Mayweather is going to be at press conferences, weigh ins and at ringside on the night and I'll be there as part of all that.

"I looked up to him a lot. He's got everything. He could knock his opponents out earlier in his career but then didn't need to do that as he became more experienced.

"He's clever and skilled, an unbelievable mover and his defence is really impressive. He makes his opponents miss and then counters them.

"He came out of fights winning easily and without a bruise on his face. He was an all-round quality fighter. He's unbelievable."

"This is where I want to be. I never thought that I'd be on a bill with Floyd Mayweather being there.

"I'm buzzing with it and it makes me want to impress even more. I want to show my skills and boxing ability but most of all I want to win."
