Sunday was Ladies’ Day at Towneley Golf Club.

Winner on the day was Sharney Catlow, with a score of 101-35-66, seven shots clear of runner-up Cathy Starkie (101-27-73), with Sue Miller (99-25-74) third.

Best gross was Maxine Leyland’s 86-13-74.

Last Tuesday, Angie Carus and Sharney Catlow played in the Australian Spoons Competition at Swinton Golf Club, and came third out of a field of 60 pairs.

Last Thursday at Whalley, the ladies’ Stableford, in aid of the Lady Captain’s chosen charity, Child Action Northwest, was won by Maria Bland with 34 points, from Gloria Bentley with 33 points.

Third was Maggie Harvey with 32 points.

Malcolm Salmon had the catch of the day on Saturday at Whalley.

Salmon came in with 41 points beating Lincoln on a card play-off to get his name on the Leslie Haynes trophy and board.

Division One winner was K. Moore (39 points).
