Sunday saw a treat for Burnley Rugby Club’s juniors with a visit from Sale Sharks.
A development coach, along with players Marc Jones and local lad Chris Leck - who started his career at the club and has now made it into the first team at Sale - spent time with the mini team who were training, and passed on tips to the teams in action.
At the end of the rugby, the best Burnley players were presented with tickets for the next Sale match.
Burnley’s Under 14s beat Skipton 15-12.
Skipton were first on the scoreboard, with their forwards pushing towards the try line and eventually making the touchdown and converting.
Burnley rallied, and were rewarded with a try by Joseph McQue.
Burnley dominated the second half, with multiple phases of the game gaining territory over Skipton, with darting runs from Fordley probing the Skipton line.
Burnley were rewarded with tries from Matthew Frodley and George Hibbert.
Skipton came back and pulled a try back, but captain Sanderson rallied his squad for the final minutes to get a well-deserved win.
Scarlett Morris was named player of the match in her first match with Burnley.
Burnley Under 11s played in the third round of the Lancashire Cup, hosting leaders Vale of Lune and Blackburn.

Burnley now await the final positions to see if they have a chance to play on in the tournament.
Mason Hayes was the pick of the Burnley players.
The Under 9s and 8s tag were in training, and the Sale contingent awarded the hardest trainers of the day to Rhys Sanders for the Under 9s and Brandon Sharp for the tags.

The Under 14s are at the Caldy Festival, meet at the club 8-30 a.m.
The Under 10s, 11s and tags are training, meet at the club 9-45 a.m.
Wednesday night training is held at Unity College on the all weather pitch from 6-7-30 p.m.
