William Smith is tipped to be a big hit in the boxing world.
Blessed Trinity student William, 15, is a member of Sandygate ABC, and coach Nik Tucker is focusing on an English title for William this year.
“I have been boxing for six years, my dad took me along and I just liked it,” said William, who boxes at 63kg.
“My ambition is to be a professional boxer – that’s my dream.”
William has already had 15 fights, winning 11, with two stoppages.
He has won his last five fights.
Coach Nik Tucker, who also runs boxing lessons at Blessed Trinity, said: “William has improved a lot and has won his last five fights.
“He will be boxing for the English title this year.
“It starts with the first round in April for the North West title in Manchester and we are confident.”
