Burnley Golf Club have appointed Sam Punchard as Head PGA Professional.

Sam is well known in the area having been an assistant professional at Towneley Golf Club and Nelson.

He has recently been the Professional at Whitefield, where he has built an excellent reputation.

At Burnley, the latest winners of the winter league matches, played in better Ball match play format, were David Owen and Colin Weston, Billy Holmes and Tim Griffiths (substitute), Ben Pate and Rob Skeath, Steve Butschok and Neil Field.

Butschok and Field’s win takes them to the top of the league with just two matches to play before the knockout phase of the competition.

Second are Lee Corns and Mark Attwell.

Two four ball better balls competitions have been played over the last two weeks.

Shaun Makin and Mark Corns won the first with 43 points, with the second won by Ian Owens and David Lancaster, also with the same 43 points.
