THE annual inter-schools cross-country competition was held last week at Towneley Park.
Twenty one local schools were represented at the event, which saw over 380 pupils compete.
Natalia Irvine of St John’s, Cliviger won the girls’ race, and Simon Wilshaw of Casterton was first back in the boys’ event.
St John’s, Cliviger took a clean sweep – winning both the girls’ and boys’ small school event, whilst Padiham Primary won the large schools’ girls’ team event, with Casterton winning the large schools boys’ team event.
The event was organised by the Burnley School Sport Partnership and Unity College, and is one of over 15 different sporting events on the primary competitive school sport calendar.
The cross country event is well supported by the schools, which this year saw record numbers of children taking part.
The partnership would like to thank all teachers, school staff and parents for supporting the event.
