Burnley and Pendle kicked off their summer season with an emphatic win away at Blackpool Sea Eagles.

Lloyd Whittaker opened the scoring, before Jack Wilkinson forced his way over in the corner to make it 8-0.

Further tries by debutant Will Farnworth and captain Matt Crowley stretched the lead to 18-0.

In response, Blackpool seemed to tighten up their game with some strong drives by their big pack, forcing Burnley and Pendle to defend their line.

Full back Marcus Farnworth then utilised tremendous footwork to leave the defence stranded and score under the posts. He converted to make the score 24-0.

Blackpool managed to peg the score back to 24-6 before Crowley grabbed another try to make the half-time score 30-6.

Sam Hamer, Matt Fisher added tries after the break and as the half went on, Burnley and Pendle seemed to score at will. Further scores by tireless prop, Adam Healy, Steve Harrison and a second half hat-trick by Crowley pushed the final score to 68-18.

The team play their first home game of the season against Hope Valley Hawks RLFC tomorrow, at the Prairie playing fields, Burnley. Kick off 2-30 p.m.

Training is 6-30 p.m. on Wednesdays. Call Bob Lennard 07772600729 for more information.
