Burnley Under 12s and 13s travelled to Manchester to take part in the prestigious Manchester sevens competition for the first time.

During the regular season, the sides play the 15-a-side version of the code, so coaches Mick Heys and Mick Mcgee had to give a crash course in the truncated form of the game.

The Under 13s competed well, with tries scored by Jack Irving and Harry Smales, with new players Jack Hope and Macaulay Thorley getting to know their teammates.

The Under 12s had playmakers but were lacking real pace. There were good performances by Harry Wilks, Sam Butterworth and Anya Richmond and Alona Bythell, who will be joining Burnley’s new girls side next season.

Any girls wanting to join, please get in touch with the club on 424337 or Simon on 07988122186.The junior presentation night will take place on Friday, June 7th at 7-30 p.m.
