Pendle Forest’s unbeaten start to the season continued with a 1-1 draw at Formby.
Forest made a good start against a physical Formby, but they failed to take advantage and allowed the hosts back into the game.
Formby promptly found the net mid way through the first half after the ball bobbled over the defender’s stick.
In the second half, Olivia Bythell flicked the ball just over from a short corner and Cathy Waters saw one cleared off the line.
Eventually, Dani Hornby won a short corner. Captain Waters found Hornby on the right for her to cross for Fiona Head to slot home.
The last few minutes were frantic, but the game finished in a 1-1 draw, and the first team host Garstang tomorrow.
The seconds played Springfields and drew 1-1, with Judith Hind on target.
Forest’s third string won 4-3 at Lancaster .
Lancaster went ahead, but only minutes later, Amy Greenwood found skipper Diane McInnes to equalise.
Lancaster scored a second goal, but Greenwood linked with Alice Parkinson, who touched the ball over the line.
In the second half, Claire Birkett picked out Claire Hockaday to put Forest ahead.
Stand-in manager Angie Carus pushed Hockaday forward, and the player of the match scored her second goal, giving the keeper no chance.
Lancaster pulled one back, but Forest held on to win.
• Pendle Forest fielded their first-ever boys’ team at the weekend. Playing at Kirkham Grammar they had three games against Blackpool, Lytham and Preston.
Captained by Sam Parker, the team dominating much of the first game against Blackpool but went down 2-0, and it was a similar story in a 1-0 defeat against Lytham.
The game against Preston saw Harry Smales and Ben Dawes score in a 2-0 win.
