New kid on the block Harry “King” Charalambous destroyed the field in the BEST Centre Christmas Table Tennis Knockout Competition.
Despite a tough draw against reigning league and Champions League winner Andy “TNT” Warn, he won a tense thriller to make it all the way to the final to face cup specialist Pete “Pistol” Shaw in what was an epic final of table tennis.
Despite losing the first game in the best of three showdown, the Christmas King also showed his fighting comeback credentials to take the match 7-11, 11-6, 11-9.
This win sets him up nicely for his first crack at the league campaign and qualification to the Europa League where he is now the firm favourite.
The “King” commented: “It was great to get my first bit of competitive action after playing friendlies over last few weeks.
“We have a great set of lads but I am ready to take “TNT”s’ title when the league restarts in the new year.”
