LOCAL pool enthusiasts Diane Harker and Tracy Graham played a major part in the Lancashire Ladies Pool Team winning the National Championship in Great Yarmouth.

South Yorkshire were the first casualty for the local girls who won 23-16.

The next round was a closer encounter against a strong Stafford side, but the girls held on to a 23-21 to gain a semi-final place against Somerset.

The ladies strolled into the final by beating the West Country side 14-23.

Revenge was sweet in the final for the Lancashire side, who were runners up last year, beating the 2012 champions Kent 23-16, who had no fewer than six England players in their team!

Tracy has been a County player for nine years, with Diane having five years’ service.

Both players play locally and are part of the Padiham Kiwis Inter Town team.

The pair are pictured with their trophies (s).
