Burnley Under 17s played touring side Chobham from Surrey in an entertaining match played in freezing conditions.

Good handling and support play was evident from both sides, and free from the straitjacket of league rugby, Burnley’s play was top quality.

Danny Collins darted over for the Holden Road youngsters for an unconverted try, only for the visitors to score a fine converted try to take the lead on the half. Lee Ferrier played well under the high ball, and from one of these he sprinted through to score and convert himself. In the best traditions of the game the locals entertained their visitors royally after the match after a 12-7 victory.
