Crowds were treated to a feast of top boxing at Roche Boxing’s latest home show.
Young boxing prodigy Oathey Jones (13) was one of the stars of the show, defeating Little Boy McMeekin to win the national Junior ABA Schoolboy Championship.
Sixteen-year-old Rez Carter was also in fine form, beating A. Khan to record his second win. Adil Hussain (23) suffered a close defeat though against Rossendale’s John Walker on points.
It was a similar story for Nicky Perry (22) when he went toe-to-toe with Salford’s George Jones. In a well matched fight, Jones took the win with a majority decision.
Owen Jones (23) won his eighth fight out of 10 against Amarooni from Middleton while 14-year-old Aquib Mushtaq showed his growing potential with his fourth win in a month, stopping Niall Johnson in the second.
