Burnley Gymnastics Club was again in the medals at the Milano Invitational Gymnastics Competition in Preston.
With the competition split over two days, Saturday was the turn of three gymnasts making their competitive debut in external competitions.
Their performances on the first day ensured that the club showcased some of their exciting up and coming talent.
All three girls entered were competing in their age group category as part of a Developmental 4 Piece Competition.
Madison Hull was crowned vault champion with a gold whilst also claiming silver on floor and bars, before completing a full house with a bronze on beam.
That gave Madison a silver overall whilst also picking up a special judges Artistry Award.
Claudia Lewis claimed silver on bars and vault whilst also claiming a judges’ coveted Artistry Award.
Jessica Park completed a fine first day for the club with a solid all-round performance, winning silver on beam and claiming a bronze on floor and vault, collecting an overall bronze medal performance.
On the second day, both gymnasts competing performed admirably competing at the Novice Level 4 Piece Competition.
Rhianna Doogan was crowned Vault champion, claiming gold, whilst following that up with a silver medal on beam, finishing fourth overall. With only a fall on a very difficult bars routine, this capped a fine individual performance.
Shannon Cairns, who stepped up to the difficult Novice Level for the first time, competed very well without being placed, but this will give her great confidence to take to her next competition.
Coach Niomi Latif said: “All the girls over both the days did really well and will take great confidence moving on.
“With more girls ready for external competitions it is exciting times for the club.”
