HARRY Pilkington recently competed in the British Schools’ Modern Biathlon Championships at Crystal Palace.
The Year 7 St Christopher’s pupil won his heat of the 50m swim, and his fantastic time of 28.75s placed him first overall.
Harry then ran in freezing conditions and won his heat of the 500m, setting a new personal best by nearly six seconds with a time of 1 min 27.98s.
His run was eighth fastest, but combined with his swim, Harry placed fourth overall.
Harry continues to be busy, training twice a week at Burnley Athletic Club and up to five times a week at Burnley Bobcats.
This training will prepare him for next years championships where the challenge will be a 100m swim and a 1,000m run.
