Blessed Trinity have boosted their gymnastic medal haul - thanks to the expert tuition of teacher Sam Tasker, who is a former gymnast.

Mr Tasker came to the Ormerod School in September as the Accelerated Progress Teacher.

And he has been training the gymnasts since January.

Recently the school’s gymnastics squad came away with their best collection of 10 individual medals and two team awards at the Burnley School’s Gymnastic competition at the Best Centre.

“My best events were floor and vault, and I trained at the Thompson Centre with Olympic gymnast Craig Heap,” said Mr Tasker.

“I came here in September and have been working with the gymnasts, along with the PE staff, twice a week. Thankfully it’s paid off.”
