Error-strewn performance ends in defeat for Burnley

The Holden Road side were the architects of their own downfall with an error-strewn performance that gifted most of the points, in a display which was way below their usual high standards.

Tomorrow, the first and third XV are home to Eccles and Kirby Lonsdale, and the seconds are at Colne and Nelson.

Burnley Under 13s took the honours with the performance of the weekend.

The youngsters came out of the blocks at great speed,scoring tries at at regular intervals, with some nice inter passing, with Liam Jones on the end of the best team try of the day.

There was also a good debut from Tabassum Munir, and the front six scrummaged well.

Jack Uttley, Tory Richmond, Munir, Charles Wilkes, Harvey Hudson and Louie Murgatroyd all got on the scoreboard in a 35-5 victory over Aldwinians.

The squad was Blake Tonks, Troy Richmond, Charles Wilkes (captain), Ben Uttley, Jack Uttley, Jack Harvey, Jake Peverley, Shay Brinkley, Isaac Marshall, Tabassum Munir, Xander Thompson, Luke Drabble, Sam North, Tommy Handley, Liam Jones, Louie Murgatroyd, Mason Ward and Harvey Hudson.

On Sunday, the Under 7/8/9/10/11s are all in training at the club.

The Under 12/13/14/15s are away at Bolton, Clitheroe, Ashton under Lyne and Aldwinians respectively.

The Junior Colts play Kirkby Lonsdale at home at 12-30 p.m.

All new players are more than welcome.
