Roche ABC’s Jack Steff was in impressive form on his birthday at Macclesfield ABC’s show at Wilmslow Leisure Centre on Friday night.
The middleweight prospect turned 22 on the night and celebrated in style by winning all three three-minute rounds again England international Jake Haigh, who had beaten Steff last year.
In a terrific contest, Steff’s power and technique came to the fore, and trainer Brian Roche said: “Jack is as strong as an ox, and he had too much for Haigh really, he was unbelievable.
“He;s only fought twice in three years now, but won his last fight with a second round knockout, and he’s boxing again next Friday at Shigley Hall in a north v south match.
“Eddie Hearn has been asking about him, and I’m not holding him back, but we’re going to do what’s best for Jack and take our time with him.
“But he will turn professional eventually, no doubt whatsoever.”
