The annual match between the Captain’s and Vice Captain’s teams took place at the weekend at Burnley, resulting in a victory for the former, 822 points to 787.

The best scorers on the day were Kim Stevens and Tim Griffiths (42), Jeremy Shirt and Michael Chambers (40) and Terry Morris and Duncan Mudie (40).

The Open fourball betterball on Sunday was won by Vishal Tripathi an Gary Blades with 41 points, after cards from David Owen and Colin Weston, with Martin Leach and Darren Jennings third, also on 41.

The ladies’ Single Stableford was won by Lisa Wilson with 37 points, from Susan Kelly (34) and Lynda Makin (33).

• Ronnie Slater Jnr topped the field in the men’s turkey shoot at Towneley with 41 points.

Ken Heap (40) was second, with Damo Pearson (39) third.

Sedgies’ Aces - Dave and Greg Sedgwick, Graham Varley and Steve McLean - carded 91 points to win the four-man team event.
