With no games in the North West Counties Squash League, Burnley arranged a friendly against Haslingden, coming out 4-2 winners.
The first game was between the youngest players from both sides, and Paul Swindles pushed the Haslingden player to the limit, but his opponent was just too strong and a bit fitter, taking the match 3-2.
Burnley took the opportunity to give a first game to Steve Morris, who thrilled the crowd with a smooth and stylish display, winning 3-2.
Nik Czernianin also played a outstanding game with no unforced errors, over coming his opponent with a comfortable 3-0 win.
The star match of the day was played by Daniel Whittaker, with a close marathon, each player trading points until the final game, which went to the Haslingden player 19-17.
The top two Burnley players Graham Riley and Rod Taggart were never in any danger, both winning their games.
Graham Riley drove his opponent to the back of the court before playing a deep boast to the front for a winning shot, and Rod Taggart played hard from the beginning, giving the Haslingden player no time to settle with a combination of drops and drives.
