BURNLEY Schools came out in force recently for the town gymnastics competition at St Peter’s Centre.

There were a number of outstanding individual and team performances on the day.

At Level 1, Hameldon were crowned champions, ahead of Shuttleworth and Sir John Thursby.

In the individual competition, Blessed Trinity’s Jess Sarchet claimed the gold medal, beating Meyer Hill of Hameldon into second.

Bronze was shared by Amy Moran of Sir John Thursby and Amber Anders of Hameldon.

In the Level 2 section, Shuttleworth came out on top.

Sir John Thursby finished as runners-up.

Gold went to Holly Jackson of Hameldon, with Blessed Trinity’s Amy Noonan winning silver, and Hameldon’s Bianca Heap bronze.

At Level 3, gold medallist was Aimee Mottershead of Hameldon.

Silver went to Yasmin Latif of Sir John Thursby, with Kayleigh Cryer-Anderton of Hameldon winning bromze.

Level 4 winner was Ellie Briggs of Blessed Trinity, ahead of Danielle Parkinson, also of Blessed Trinity.

Unity’s Mia Deakin won bronze.
