Burnley RUFC continued their excellent form, securing a bonus point win in an eight-try demolition of Garstang.

With results going their way, Burnley moved up to second place in Lancashire league North.

Burnley were in control from the off, as Simon Finnan scampered over.

They should have increased that lead sooner, but were a little over confident.

Their dominance was emphasised with a penalty try and an Adam Wallis try before the half, with one conversion by Joe Parkinson.

In the second half, Burnley made a couple of changes, bringing on Jack Stockdale and Dave Lord.

The locals pressed hard and played some wonderful rugby, with great interplay between backs and forwards against a Garstang side that refused to lie down.

Finnan and Wallis both bagged one more try apiece, with James White, Gerhard Botha and Dave Lord also scoring tries.

Sam Mounsey added two conversions as Burnley finished 48-0 winners.

The Tags seven and eight-year-olds travelled to Garstang.

Luca Murgatroyd and Tom Finnan were impressive, and Dan Jackson supported well.

Oscar Bradley stood out and Ava and Noah Smith were exceptional in a couple of good wins.

New players are always welcome at the Prairie 3G pitch, with the next session at 10-45 a.m. on Sunday.

For the Under 9s, there were good debuts from Mikey Summer and Kyle Keating.

This weekend, the first team travel to Hutton, and the second and thirds are at home, with 2-15 p.m..kick-offs.

On Sunday, the Under 7/12s are home to Bury and the Under 13/15s are training.
