Burnley Gymnastics Club had a successful weekend at their first competition at the Robin Park Arena in Wigan.
Gymnasts Rafaella Musso, Rhianna Doogan, Ayshea Whitaker and Olivia Cragg competed in the North West individual apparatus championships.
All the gymnasts competed excellently over all four apparatus, including the balance beam, asymmetric bars, vault and floor.
Rhianna Doogan and Raffaella Musso managed to fight off tough competition bringing home two gold medals and a bronze medal.
Rhianna competed a fantastic vault and bar routine which saw her win the gold medal on vault and the bronze medal on bars.
Rafaella performed a solid routine on the balance beam with her efforts awarded with the gold medal.
All the gymnasts put a lot of time and effort in to their training sessions before the competition.
Through their hard work along with their coach Kimberley Sharples, it all paid off, and Sharples sai: “The gymnasts worked really hard, not only on the day of the competition but in their training sessions too. We are very proud.”
