Joe Shaw made it three wins out of three as the Roche ABC fighter impressed at Halifax Police Boxing Club last Friday.
The 15-year-old took on home fighter Alex Hanson, who had only lost four of 24 outings, at 60kg, but he put his opponent on the canvas in the second round, before claiming a unanimous points verdict.
Coach Brian Roche said: “You could put Joe in against anyone at the moment, he’s a natural talent and he was just too good for Hanson.”
Club mate Aqib Mushtaq was also in action at the show, and he also extended a perfect record to five wins from five contests, against an opponent with three wins from four himself.
Mushtaq boxed another Halifax fighter, Jakub Daniher, at 58kg, and gained another unanimous decision.
Roche said: “Aqib is showing what an excellent boxer he is, he won every round and looked very strong.”
