Burnley Bobcats return with host of medals from Blackpool Rocks

Burnley Bobcats came away with a hoard of medals at the Blackpool Rocks Level 3 Gala at Palatine Pool.

The squad won 26 medals and this was the first meet for young swimmers to the squad Anna Brown (11), Jack Chapman (10), Lily Duckworth (10), Kerry Gibbins (10) and Mia Sheridan (9), who all put in some great performances and achieved personal bests.

Elliot Norman (12) won three gold and four silver medals in all four disciplines; Lucy Cole (13) won three gold and one silver in her four events, whilst Colette Meade (13) took gold in the 50m freestyle, silver medals in the 400m freestyle and 100m breaststroke, and bronze in the 100m butterfly.

Boys from the squad, Alex Minozzi, Thomas Mackay and Dean Moorhouse all won silver medals in their freestyle events, whilst the girls Madison Beswick and Charlotte Waddington took medals in their backstroke and freestyle events and Ellie Taylor won silver in the 50m butterfly.

Other swimmers who performed well were Lucy Alexander, Elicia Brown, Saffron Fenton and Isabella Watts.
