Burnley Bobcats impress in Stockport Meet after training camp in Lanzarote

Burnley Bobcats recently enjoyed a training break at the Club La Santa Sports Camp in Lanzarote.

The squad trained twice a day in the 50m outdoor pool in preparation for this year’s Regional and National competitions.

Head coach Mike Robinson said “All the squad worked extremely hard.”

On their return, they competed in the Stockport Metro Meet. Katie Rennolds (14) won the 800m freestyle in a personal best, with Grace Pickles (13) first in her age group.

Tom Hamer (14) won the 1,500m freestyle, with Thomas Mackay (13) fourth, both with new PBs.

Robert Bryce (12) achieved a National qualifying time in the 200m backstroke, winning the 100m backstroke, and adding third in the 200M individual medley and fourth in the 50m backstroke.

Will Murray (15) won the 50m freestyle, and swam a personal best in the final of the Open 100m freestyle event.

He was third in the 200m freestyle and 50m butterfly.

Erica Minozzi (14) was third in the 50m, 200m and 400m freestyle.

Jamie Sharpley was second in the 100m butterfly, won the 50m butterfly and was third in the 200m freestyle.

Elliot Norman (12) was in the top three in the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke, as was Kerry Holding (17) in the 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle, and Grace Pickles (13) in the 400m freestyle.
