Young swimmer Tom Brown has been awarded the Burnley Bobcats Robert Monk Memorial Trophy.
Fourteen-year-old Tom was presented with the trophy by head coach Michael Robinson for his courage, determination and enthusiasm throughout the year.
The Ridgewood School pupil has taken part in some major competitions as an S14 disability swimmer. He has competed in regional, national and international competitions and this month took part in the three-day Sainsburys 2014 School Games held in Manchester, being selected to join the Talent Inspirational Programme.
Coach Michael Robinson said at the presentation “Tom puts full effort into his training and does exactly as he is asked, which is why we want to recognise him. Well done Tom, keep up the hard work and it will pay dividends”.
Bobcats are now currently back training for the 2014/15 season with the first competition being a Level 2 Meet at Wigan in November.
