A quartet of swimming stars from Blessed Trinity are ‘Hungary’ for more success.

Emma Fothergill, 15, recently represented Great Britain at the Catholic School Games in Hungary. Emma is also captain of the Blessed Trinity senior swim team and trains with Burnley Bobcats and Burnley Aquatics.

Emma is devoted to swimming – training seven times a week. “She is a fantastic role model for all our younger swimmers,” said Claire Juriansz, Curriculum Leader for PE and Sport.

And Blessed Trinity have another trio of Burnley Aquatics and Burnley Bobcats swimmers, who are also making a splash.

Anna Brown, 11, has a cabinet full of trophies. “I train three or four mornings a week and two evenings for two hours each session,” said the former St Mary’s RC Primary School pupil. “I love swimming, it keeps me fit and healthy and it’s my favourite hobby. I have won loads of medals and trophies and hope to win a lot more in the future.”

Anna won three silver medals in her last competition in Blackpool in the 50m Butterfly, 50m Breaststroke and 100m Back Stroke.

Lucy Cole, 14, and Elicia Brown, 15, all swim seven times a week and compete for Lancashire and the North West as well.
