ANDREW Trickett carried on with his run of good form on Sunday at a scorching-hot Towneley Golf Club.
His score of 155, played over 36 holes, earned him his second major win in a few weeks to secure the prestigious club championship.
Steve Wynne carded 156 to take the runners-up spot, with Nick Rae’s 157 earning him third place.
The top eight players now play for the scratch matchplay trophy.
The previous day, new member Gary Byrne won his first major at the club by capturing the President’s Club with a total of 41 points.
The in-form Ged McCabe was runner-up on the card, with Darren Snook third with 39 points.
Nearest the pin awards went to Wilf Latham at the sixth hole, and Darren Whitaker at the 17th.
Mick Southern and Faz Mahmood had exceptional cards to win the midweek stableford competitions.
Southern’s 43 points won on Tuesday, and Mahmood’s 42 won on Thursday.

In the ladies’ section last Thursday , the Medal and Lady Veterans’ Trophy was played for.
The Medal winner was Julie Clarke, who shot a 91– 20–71.
Lady Veterans’ winner was Joyce Green, with a 91–16–75, ahead of lady captain Anita Comstive (107–31-76).
On Sunday, the Spring Meeting Greensomes and Lynda Wills’ Lady Vice Captain’s Day was held.
Winners were Joyce Green and Julie Clarke (85–17.2– 67.8), from Isobel Scaife and Lynda Makin (86–15.6–70.4).
• IN almost tropical conditions, the ladies at Whalley Golf Club competed in the ELLGA Handicap Shield and Annie Chambers Trophy Qualifying Round.
The winner, after a card play-off, was Shirley Palich (90-18-72), ahead of Karen Thompson (94-22-72) and Marion Chambers (104-27-77).
