Participants from Cherry Fold and Hapton Primary Schools took part in a Hameldon Family High 5 Netball Festival last month.
Held in the sports hall at Hameldon Community College, the children from each school were given an introduction to the rules and tactics used in High 5 Netball, before competing in games against each other.
The festival concluded with some fun practices and drills, in which players aimed to improve their passing and shooting techniques.
Curriculum Leader for PE and School Sports Coordinator Mr Nicolson said: “It’s great to see the children forming our cluster of primary schools using the excellent sports facilities we have at Hameldon.
“Each pupil who played seemed to make really good progress in a variation of the sport that they haven’t had much experience of in the past.
“I would like to thank Helen Tyson, Burnley’s School Games Organiser, who coached and umpired the matches.”
Hameldon’s next cluster event will take place on Wednesday, in the form of a cross-country competition.
