Lowerhouse have much to celebrate at junior and senior presentations

Lowerhouse CC’s junior and senior presentations took place recently in the clubhouse.

For the junior awards night, in front of 175 parents and junior players, the prizes were presented by first team captain Charlie Cottam, with assistance from John Waite.

Compere for the evening was Stan Heaton.

The trophies were provided by Surridge/SDL, Kevin Bailey supplied the certificates, and Humberstone’s Jewellers of Barrowford were thanked for their trophy donations.

Over 500 awards were given out and all sponsors were thanked for their support including new sponsors: Atkinson-Morley for the Under 9s, Molly Rigby’s for the District girls, Building Technology Systems for the 3rd team and Padiham Councillor Bob Clark for his Achievement Award sponsorship.

A number of commemorative awards were again awarded in honour and memory of club stalwarts and loved ones .

The senior presentation and cabaret evening was held a fortnight later, with managing director Matthew Stansfield presenting the awards.

The evening featured a presentation to Pendleside Hospice from supporter Gary Ingham, who had raised over £500 on the first team’s run scoring and wicket taking .

Harry Brooks was thanked for his donation of the proceeds of the sale of Len Hutton’s cap and Chris Bleazard won the Harry Brooks Trophy, along with several other trophies, for his magnificent achievements.

The finale saw the commemoration of Joe Beneduce’s services to the club upon his retirement.
