England cricketer Kate Cross has been in schools in town to help promote girls’ cricket in the area.
She paid a visit to Unity High School earlier this month, and last week was at Sir John Thursby, before a later trip to Blessed Trinity to continue to spread the word.
Kate, who plays for Lancashire Women and the Sapphires, helped England win the Ashes back in January.
Meanwhile, Burnley Cricket Club are looking to expand on the girls’ team formed this season, to enter an open aged women and girls’ cricket team to play other teams in Lancashire.
Burnley are running female-only cricket nets, which started on Thursday for nine weeks at Sir John Thursby Sports Facilities from 6-7 p.m.
Any girls interested can contact Tracey on 07983125190 or come along at 6 p.m. on a Thursday.
