Padiham earned their first point of the season on Wednesday night when they drew their Evo-Stik Northern Premier League fixture with Harrogate Railway Athletic 1-1 at the Arbories.
A crowd of around 250 saw the Storks take the lead in the 37th minute when Jack Cook played in Kieron Pickup and his shot found the back of the net between the upright and Harrogate keeper Peter Crook.
Earlier the game had been an even contest with Storks keeper Sean Davis saving efforts from Paul Beesley and Mark Sharples while Cook fired an effort wide of the target for the hosts.
The second half started with Davis being the busier of the two shot stoppers and the Padiham defence being tested by Colin Hunter and Rob Youhill, while at the other end Ben Allen was slowly getting into the game with two efforts that flashed just wide.
The visitors got more into the game after Steve Wilkes made two second half substitutions and with six minutes to go they grabbed a late equaliser when a save by Davis saw the loose ball sit up nicely for Nathan Cartman to smash into the net and make the final score 1-1.
Padiham are at home again tomorrow when they entertain Lancaster City at the Arbories with kick-off at 3 p.m. while Padiham Reserves travel the short distance to Darwen Reserves.
On Bank Holiday Monday, the Storks travel to Ramsbottom United for a 3 p.m. kick-off.
