PADIHAM manager Craig Chadwick wants his side to continue their terrific start to the new year.
The Storks travelled to Colne on Bank Holiday Monday and won 3-0. They then coupled their local derby success with another impressive win at home to table-toppers New Mills last Saturday, defeating them 3-1.
Chadwick believes his side have benefited from the long lay off caused by the big freeze: “We were wary that the long break might affect us, but it seems to have helped us. We’ve been terrific in the last two games.
“Against New Mills, we didn’t give them too much respect and came out with a well deserved victory”.
Padiham now sit ninth in the Vodkat Premier Division and Chadwick is aiming to be the top Lancashire club in the division by finishing above both Colne and Barnoldswick.
“I don’t really like to set out aims but at the start of the season the aim was to be the best Lancashire side in the league,” he said.
“At the start, it didnt look too promising, but we’ve shown recently that its very much achievable”.
Chadwick’s side travel to fifth-placed Congleton on Saturday looking to continue their winning form and he believes his side are capable of coming away with maximum points.
“Congleton is always a tough place to go; they are a physical outfit and have spent quite a bit of money.
“But I believe I have a very capable squad who can go there and get the three points.”
