PADIHAM FC are looking forward to the new season following a steady last 12 months.

Members attending the club’s annual general meeting last week heard that a reduction in sponsorship income during the last season had meant the club having to make savings on its planned expenditure.

A number of small grants had allowed the club to continue with its youth section and improve its public address system at its Arbories base but ongoing maintenance on the club’s floodlights was proving an expense.

The club hosted 11 local league cup finals, a North-West Counties Football League final, two Lancashire FA County Cup semi-finals and three charity matches played at the Arbories during the 2011/12 season.

Looking ahead to the forthcoming season and Padiham will compete in the FA Cup, FA Vase, FA Youth Cup, the FA Women’s Cup, the Lancashire FA Challenge Cup, Under 18s Cup, Under 13s Cup and the women’s county cup competitions.

However the Storks will only run five sides this coming season which is a reduction of one on last season.

Despite increasing costs, Padiham has also announced that admission to first team games and season ticket prices will remain the same as last season as will the rates for displaying advertising boards at the ground.

A date has also been set for Padiham’s annual sportsman’s dinner. The event will take place on Thursday, November 29th, in the 1882 Lounge at Turf Moor and is set to feature guest speaker Paul Merson and comedian Josh Daniels.

The AGM ended with the club’s management committee thanking all its sponsors and supporters for their backing over the previous 12 months.
