• Members of Padiham Football Club were warned at their Annual General Meeting that as an organisation they were not immune from the financial pressures facing the country as a whole.

Despite the warning though the meeting was an upbeat one with all the club’s teams producing the goods on the pitch last season.

Main sponsor Atkinson & Morley Construction Limited agreed to continue their support for another season and advertisers were actively being sought for sites around the club’s ground.

Discussions were also held regarding Padiham FC Ladies, who had been promoted to the North West Women’s Regional Football League, but in doing so now faced increased travel costs with trips to Carlisle, Penrith, Whitehaven, Warrington, Morecambe and Birkdale all part of the fixture list.

At the time of the AGM it also looked very much like the majority of last season’s first team squad would be re-signing and further additions had been made.

A decision was made to keep season ticket prices and match day admission prices the same along with the cost to sponsor a fixture or a match ball.

Padiham FC’s annual sportsman’s dinner will take place at Turf Moor on Thursday, November 24th with Barry Fry as guest speaker and Jamie Southerland as the comedian.
